About the Author

Tim Whittome

I am originally from England and spent all of my childhood and early adulthood there. I now have dual citizenship and enjoy the benefits of both when traveling.

I first “met” Anne Frank and “walked” with Anne Brontë when I was in my late twenties; and I have been inspired bed by both ever since. To borrow a phrase attributed to Anne Brontë, but which I sadly cannot find the source of despite exhaustive search, I largely live for the fact that “there are great books in this world and great worlds in books.” I usually find every character imaginable in adult, teen, and children’s classical literature to be worthy of some form of love, emulation, humor, regret, or parenting. I have read all of Shakespeare’s plays at least three times and love the underappreciated and little-known Timon of Athens.

I am devoted to honoring the memory of not just Anne Brontë, but also the memories of Anne and Margot Frank. In 2021, I edited and published “Meeting” Anne Frank, donating many copies to those who once knew Anne and Margot, to members of the British and Dutch royal families, to various luminaries in the Anne Frank world, to school and public libraries, and even to my local cheesemonger, who had studied the lives of Anne and Margot at her school.

Tim has an adopted daughter whom he wrote about under the pen name of Simon Cambridge in his “Failing Cordelia” series of books. The writing part of this trilogy was inspired by adhering to Anne Brontë’s devotion to the truth, for “truth always conveys its own moral to those who are able to receive it.”
